60th Anniversary Trip Boat Raffle

As a celebration of the Society’s 60th anniversary, two one-day cruises along the Montgomery Canal are being arranged for twelve lucky members of the Society plus a partner or friend each. A raffle will be held for places.

The first cruise on Saturday, 25th July, will travel from Lyneal Wharf, Ellesmere, SY12 0LQ to Crickheath Basin, SY10 8BJ. The second cruise on Sunday, 26th July, will travel in the reverse direction. In both directions, the five locks at Frankton and the three locks at Aston will be traversed. Six members plus a friend/partner will join the first cruise and another six plus friend/partner will join the second.

The Lyneal Trust boat, Shropshire Lady, will be used and the trip is expected to take about eight hours. A buffet lunch will be provided and tea and coffee will also be available en route. A toilet is available on the boat.

Raffle tickets can only be purchased by members and will cost £10 each. Members may purchase as many tickets as they wish – the more tickets, the more chance of winning! However, members will be limited to one cruise only, to ensure twelve different members can join this unique event. Purchasers of raffle tickets must still be members on the day of the draw or else their tickets will considered invalid.

The drawing of the raffle will take place on 5th June, 2026 at the restoration work party. The first six tickets drawn will entitle each winner plus a partner or friend to join the 25th July cruise; the second six tickets drawn will entitle each winner plus a partner or friend to join the 26th July cruise.

You can purchase a raffle ticket by clicking here. Entry into the raffle will be acknowledged by email.

Good luck!
